Talk Beliefs Episode 2 - Truth Sect & Redress Scheme

Episode 2 recently released on Talk Beliefs, discussing the Australian Survivor Redress Scheme and The Truth/2x2 refusal to sign up

Talk Beliefs in an excellent YouTube Channel which provides a platform for survivors of religious cults and sects to raise awareness about the coercive, toxic and abusive behaviours inside these groups.

This is a 2nd episode I have released with Mark, who has graciously allowed me back on.

A note that my favourite part of episode 1 was the comments section. Have a read and see the kinds of behaviour that current (and some ex) members display. The comments were upsetting for me when I first started speaking out, but now I understand (after a lot of deconstruction work) that some people who're deeply engaged in the group cannot comprehend that there are different ways to experience the group, especially if you're not part of a powerful cohort in the group (i.e. if you're poor, Black, Brown, LGBTIQA, a woman/girl you often experience the group differently).

These days it upsets me more that there is a cohort of ex-members (and progressive current members) who can’t see that excommunication and shunning still occurs, that are still racist and misogynistic despite leaving the group/The Truth/2x2s. It really is important that everyone deconstructs and gets suitable support when leaving a high control group, so that they don’t take the same harmful behaviours and beliefs into a new life.
